Automatic Shrink Sleeve Label Applicator Machine

A shrink sleeve applicator machine is a type of packaging equipment used to apply shrink sleeves onto various types of containers, such as bottles, jars, cans, and other cylindrical or shaped packages. Shrink sleeves are plastic labels that are printed with graphics, branding, and product information. When heat is applied, they shrink and conform tightly to the shape of the container, creating a visually appealing and tamper-evident packaging solution.

Here's a general overview of how a shrink sleeve applicator machine works:

  1. Feeding Mechanism: The machine has a feeding system where a roll of pre-printed shrink sleeves is loaded. The shrink sleeves are typically made of PVC, PET, or OPS materials.

  2. Container Handling: The containers to be labeled are placed on a conveyor system, which guides them through the labeling process.

  3. Labeling Station: As the containers move through the machine, the shrink sleeves are cut to the appropriate length and separated from the roll. The sleeves are opened and positioned to be ready for application.

  4. Application and Seaming: The opened shrink sleeves are applied to the containers using an adhesive or heat-activated glue. For heat-activated glue, the machine uses heat tunnels or heat guns to activate the glue and cause the sleeve to adhere to the container's surface.

  5. Shrinking Process: After the sleeves are applied, the containers continue along the conveyor and pass through a heat tunnel or shrink tunnel. The heat causes the shrink sleeves to shrink and tightly wrap around the containers, creating a snug, secure, and visually appealing label.

  6. Cooling and Inspection: The containers may pass through a cooling section to set the labels properly. Additionally, an inspection station may be included to check for any labeling defects or inaccuracies.

Shrink sleeve applicator machines are popular in various industries, including food and beverages, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and household products. They offer several advantages, such as 360-degree branding, the ability to cover complex container shapes, and tamper-evident packaging. The machines are available in different configurations, including semi-automatic and fully automatic models, depending on production requirements.
